Johan from Capita Snowboards stopped by today to give us the run down on this years boards. Johan, unlike the Capita Super Corporation, is not scary. Pete and Johan shred the Pacific Northwest regularly. He kicked k-knowledge about camber vs rocker vs Flat Kick tech. Capita spends tons of time, money, and effort making sure all their boards are extra sick, extra scary, which is probably why they are one of the best selling brands on the market. Support snowboarder owned/operated companies, especially the scary ones!
Also highly noted were the Women's Saturnia snowboard series. Graphics are some of the sickest too.
We'll be slinging gear at The Ellicottville Depot each weekend till the resort opens.

Friday and Saturday 9am to 9pm
Sunday 9-5
So stop by, get your board tuned, check out the latest flicks and gear from your friendly neigbhor hood board store. Bulk up for the winter with some Buffalo chicken wings. Get some fatty food and some fatty gear tonight! You might see some of the latest on the big screen upstairs. Some available upon request.

In the world of uncertainty that we live in, it's hard to know which path to follow. Some say the end times are upon us, and that we should follow those who preach self-righteousness and light. To myself and others, however, the path of darkness and anarchy has always seemed more interesting and WAY more fun. Apparently, Capita agrees with me, and they'd like to help lead YOU down the path to the Dark Side with the newest addition to their Black Death line.
The 2010 Capita BLACK DEATH, Inc. snowboard builds on 5 years of top-of-the-line all terrain freestyle design tradition, which has consistently made this one of the most highly coveted freestyle boards in the industry. Learn to use the Dark Side of the force, and you will become more powerful that you could ever imagine. Features Include: * Super Sexy Satanic Graphics * DS + ENT – Entrapped AIRcore (lighter than sin!) * Wax Infused Sintered Speed Base (ungodly fast!) * Carbon Kevlar RV Reinforcements (so strong they'll think you made a deal with the devil!)
Arbor’s take on the rocker revolution - the new Draft is designed around The System, a fusion of interdependent technologies that support jib-specific performance. Make no mistake; rocker boards represent a new approach to how snowboards function. Rocker shapes require a total rethinking of long held ideas on technologies and how they interact. To that end, we offer…
THE SYSTEM - A fusion of interdependent technologies that support jib-specific performance.
.Grip-Tech Sidecut: an unblended progressive tri-radial sidecut design that creates additional contact points directly under-foot for significantly improved control.

Street Rocker: a rocker profile based on a stretched parabolic arc that further improves control, while providing a more uniform running surface nose to tail.

Rocker Flex: a rocker specific flex pattern designed to address how riders experience board flex when shredding a de-cambered design.
Inlaid Power Spine: a structural spine of wood that counters the effect of de-cambering to maintain pop, while not hindering the rocker benefit of easy spins, presses, and butters.
Robusto Tips: a wider, more blunt shape and flat kick design that meets the needs of a rocker nose and tail’s more specialized role as platforms for presses and butters.
True-Twin: a twin-tip shape that encourage riders to equalize their stance and more effectively activate the Grip-Tech contact points and Street Rocker design.
Mercy Edges: softer bronze edges that deliver a less catchy ride, while balancing the active edge performance created by Street Rocker and Grip Tech.
Sumo-Stance: an expanded 2×4 insert system that provides a much wider stance (Max: 25.20″/64cm) allowing riders to size down their boards for classic rocker performance.
ORGANIC UPGRADES
Protecting the planet is about the environments we utilize everyday. We need clean air to skate, clean water to surf, and snow to ride.
FSC CERTIFIED WOOD CORES - All of Arbor’s wood cores are made with poplar that has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as sustainably produced. Poplar is still the best choice as a primary wood core material due to its combination of lighter-weight performance, durability, and availability.

Kickball vs. Cancer Tournament, 8/8/09 @ Allen Park, to benefit the Community Foundation and the Stephen Pangborn / Willie Hayes Memorial Scholarship Fund. This is the 3rd year that Jamestown City Coucil member Micheal Taylor has organized this event in honor of his lost friends.
Suburban Blend and Snow Rev teamed up like Voltron and put their best foot forward in hopes of victory. Unfourtunately the tournament was cut short by lightning and torrential rainstorms.
